“Bildstörung” is the name of the European Streettheatrefestival in Detmold, which took place for the first time in 1991 and is being hosted biannually by the city of Detmold since 1992 with the aim to make art and culture in public space accessible and available for everybody. “Bildstörung” literally means picture interference and is related to the intention of the festival to break with the common day-to-day routines and views, whatever they might be for each individual.
Due to its wide spectrum the festival attracts visitors, ensembles, event organizers from everywhere around Europe.
