The Streetthe­atre fes­ti­val BILDSTÖRUNG usu­al­ly takes place bian­u­al­ly dur­ing Whit­sun.

The next fes­ti­val will be at the Whit­sun week­end 2026 from 22^nd to 25^th May 2026.

In gen­er­al, our goal is to make all events of the Streetthe­atre fes­ti­val BILDSTÖRUNG open-air, free of charge and acces­si­ble to every­one.

For vis­i­tor con­trol (e.g. due to lim­it­ed vis­i­tor seat­ing) tick­ets are required for some per­for­mances.

We try our best to make all events of the BILDSTÖRUNG acces­si­ble bar­ri­er-free. Unfor­tu­nate­ly, this is not pos­si­ble for every pro­duc­tion due to secu­ri­ty rea­sons. This year the pro­duc­tions “Vom Ende her. Ein Requiem für das fos­sile Zeital­ter” by Jascha Som­mer & Jakob Engel and “close.r” by The­atre­Frag­ile are not bar­ri­er-free.

Bar­ri­er-free, pub­lic toi­lets can be found under the stairs of the town hall at the mar­ket place.

There will be a fes­ti­val lounge once again this year where vis­i­tors can relax and unwind. You can also enjoy a refresh­ing drink or deli­cious street food under the roof of the fes­ti­val tent. Due to a recon­struc­tion of the Schloss­park the lounge will not be locat­ed there as usu­al, but in the new ambi­ence in the Park am Muse­um.

Under the stairs of Det­molds town hall entrance, at the mar­ket place are san­i­tary facil­i­ties that are ful­ly acces­si­ble bar­ri­er-free.

Some of the restau­ra­teurs are also part of “Nette Toi­lette”, a com­mu­ni­ty of facilites that grant free access to their restrooms. Find them here.

No pho­tog­ra­phy or film­ing is per­mit­ted dur­ing the per­for­mances with­out pri­or accred­i­taion.

We would be delight­ed if the fes­ti­val is so beau­ti­ful that mobile phones etc. move out of focus.

We can under­stand that you would like to cap­ture these great moments. That is why we have the events of the BILDSTÖRUNG doc­u­ment­ed and pub­lish infor­ma­tion about them on our home­page, etc. The local press also cov­ers many of the events.
