The Streettheatre festival BILDSTÖRUNG usually takes place bianually during Whitsun.
The next festival will be at the Whitsun weekend 2026 from 22nd to 25th May 2026.
You can find the program here: Program 2026
In general, our goal is to make all events of the Streettheatre festival BILDSTÖRUNG open-air, free of charge and accessible to everyone.
For visitor control (e.g. due to limited visitor seating) tickets are required for some performances.
Tickets: kulturteam.reservix.de
We try our best to make all events of the BILDSTÖRUNG accessible barrier-free. Unfortunately, this is not possible for every production due to security reasons. This year, the production “The Place” by Eléctrico 28 is not accessible and the show “DRIFTING” by Toukie Delphine is partially accessible.
Barrier-free, public toilets can be found under the stairs of the town hall at the market place, in the pavillion at the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Park and at the festival venues Brunnenwiese, Hangar 21 and Schorenfriedhof.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions about this, please contact us via the contact form.
We are thankful for any input that improves our visitors and our own festival experience.
If you need help with overnight stays or you want to experience other cultural activities, you can contact the Detmold tourist information centre: +49 5231 977–328, tourist.info@detmold.de
More information about the possibilities for overnight stays in Detmold can be found here.
There will be a festival lounge once again this year where visitors can relax and unwind. You can also enjoy a refreshing drink or delicious street food under the roof of the festival tent.
Under the stairs of Detmolds town hall entrance, at the market place are sanitary facilities that are fully accessible barrier-free. Further locations are marked on the map.
Some of the restaurateurs are also part of “Nette Toilette”, a community of facilites that grant free access to their restrooms. Find them here.

No photography or filming is permitted during the performances without prior accreditaion.
We would be delighted if the festival is so beautiful that mobile phones etc. move out of focus.
We can understand that you would like to capture these great moments. That is why we have the events of the BILDSTÖRUNG documented and publish information about them on our homepage, etc. The local press also covers many of the events.
Während der Vorstellungen darf ohne vorherige Akkreditierung nicht fotografiert oder gefilmt werden.
There are various seating options available at the performances: the front rows offer seating on the floor, as well as benches or stands. For safety reasons, you are not permitted to bring your own seating into the performance areas. Please ensure that everyone has a clear view and that escape and emergency routes
remain clear.
In case of a serious incident, call 112 immediately.
If medical assistance is needed, a first aid team is on site. You can find their location on the map located in the Schlosspark or at our Festival-Info. First aid kits are available at all performance venues. Please ask our festival team for help.
If there is any question that our Q&A was not possible to answer or suggestions, do not hestitate and feel free to contact us via our contact form.
We will answer all your questions as soon as possible. As our organisation team is relatively small before the festival, we ask for a little patience.
