BILDSTÖRUNG 2026

BILDSTÖRUNG Fes­ti­val brings art and cul­ture into pub­lic space, mak­ing them direct­ly acces­si­ble. This year, near­ly 100 artists from nine coun­tries will engage with every­day urban life through the­ater, dance, per­for­mance, con­tem­po­rary cir­cus, audio walks, and par­tic­i­pa­to­ry for­mats. They explore the poten­tial impact of artis­tic prac­tice in pub­lic space — as an invi­ta­tion, a dis­rup­tion, an appro­pri­a­tion, as an encounter.

The fes­ti­val’s pro­duc­tions are as diverse as the venues they inhab­it: they engage in dia­logue with the space and its inhab­i­tants, ques­tion soci­etal roles and norms, cre­ate moments of con­nec­tion and won­der, and pose fun­da­men­tal ques­tions about coex­is­tence, time, and tran­sience. The fes­ti­val exists between silence and rap­ture, acro­bat­ics and con­tem­pla­tion, humor and seri­ous­ness.

We invite you to a fes­ti­val that is open to all, respect­ful of peo­ple and places, and a unique, intense, a shared expe­ri­ence of vibrant cul­ture.
