ZWERMERS (NL) visits Hangar 21
“Catwalk Continuum” (tryout)

“Clothing shapes who we are, who we want to be, and sometimes who we need to be.” – “Catwalk Continuum” (try out) in Hangar21

Saturday, 19. April 2025, dutch group Zwermers try out their continuous performance “Catwalk Continuum” in  Hangar 21.

Approximately 6-hour trial run. Just drop by Hangar 21 anytime between 12:00 and 18:00.

Clothing shapes who we are, who we want to be, and sometimes who we need to be. Do we wear clothing, or are we worn by clothes? As hundreds of outfits pass by to the rythmic live music, the performance explores our innate urge to label, categorize, and judge. Catwalk Continuum is the result of Zwermers’ years-long exploration of clothing and the fluid nature of identity. An ode to human diversity—and a healthy antidote to rigid labeling and restrictive labels. This presentation is the result of a weeklong residency.

This performance is a try out and premieres at festival Oerol at the island of Terschelling in the Netherlands in June 2025.

Concept: Zwermers
Performers: Inez Wolters en Paul van de Waterlaat
Live music: Wouter de Belder
Support: Sander Verbiest

Zwermers celebrates the diversity of human expression through performances and installations. Using clothing as a starting point, they explore the tension between who we want to be and how we are perceived by others. Rooted in Tilburg (The Netherlands) Zwermers spreads its wings internationally. You’ll find them everywhere: in museums, on sites, and in the theater. In 2024, Zwermers presented their project Pan~// Catwalk at Bildstörung festival, and now they are back with the continuation: Catwalk Continuum.
