BILDSTÖRUNG Festival brings art and culture into public space, making them directly accessible. This year, nearly 100 artists from nine countries will engage with everyday urban life through theater, dance, performance, contemporary circus, audio walks, and participatory formats. They explore the potential impact of artistic practice in public space — as an invitation, a disruption, an appropriation, as an encounter.
The festival’s productions are as diverse as the venues they inhabit: they engage in dialogue with the space and its inhabitants, question societal roles and norms, create moments of connection and wonder, and pose fundamental questions about coexistence, time, and transience. The festival exists between silence and rapture, acrobatics and contemplation, humor and seriousness.
We invite you to a festival that is open to all, respectful of people and places, and a unique, intense, a shared experience of vibrant culture.
