From the worn denim jacket to the extravagant glitter dress: our clothes are an expression of who we are, who we want to be and sometimes have to be. What does this “second skin” say about us?
The Dutch artists from Zwermers have been working on an ongoing artistic project about clothing and identity since 2018. These two things are closely linked. Consciously and unconsciously, we shape ourselves – every day – through what we wear. We are constantly observed and interpreted by others. Accompanied by a violinist with a loop station, whose music is inspired by Philip Glass and Hauschka, they use their numerous items of clothing to illustrate how fluid our identity can be and focus on the colorful and versatile human being.
