Portuguese choreographer Marco da Silva Ferreira has created a provocative duo to Schubert‘s Fantasia in F minor, in which every step glides and the footwork is astonishing. Ferreira‘s language harks back to the origins of urban dance and is breathtaking in its apparent complexity. The duo falls silent for the duel and Schubert‘s music progresses. Dancers Chloé Robidoux and Anka Postic swap pointe shoes for boots and move between burlesque and classical music.
This minor-key fantasy emanates a sweet, crazy energy that permeates the dancers‘ bodies. This is not a minor, but a major pas de deux.
